Resort Information

This varied resort is located within Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park, the third largest in Finland. There is a myriad of well kept trails and paths that lead to the most beautiful view points that the park has to offer. Because of the clean and varied nature of the surroundings, this resort is perfectly suited to all types of outdoor pursuit.

The 807m Taivaskero Fell was were the Helsinki Olympic torch was lit on the 6th of July 1952. Because of the great distances invlolved, over 1,680 torch bearers were required before it finally reached Helsinki itself, thirteen days later.

Due to its position, Pallas can be seen as an area of transition, where livelihoods change from the farming region to the South, through to the reindeer husbandry of the North.

This important and historical town has long served as a tourist destination and has therefore had many years to evolve and hone its facilities, enabling the many tourists to get the most out of their stay.
