Itinerary:

Day One

CHECK IN AT your UK airport and collect your special boarding pass. You'll depart the UK around 10am and arrive late afternoon at Enontekio. Local guides will greet you and assist you to your coach.

The village of Hetta is a 10 to 15 minute transfer. Temperatures in this part of Lapland range between -7C and -35C in December and the included all-in-one thermal suits and boots are an essential part of your holiday package and we will stop to collect these en route to your accommodation.  On arrival in Hetta, check into your chosen accommodation. In the early evening, your Transun representative will host a welcome meeting and discuss the content of your break in further detail. This evening at a welcome dinner, your rep will endeavour to speak to each family to answer any questions.

Tonight, you can join one of our optional activities, such as a night safari, offering the thrill of travelling through the wilderness beneath the stars, perhaps encountering the Northern Lights. See page 14 for full details of all our optional activities.

Day Two

AFTER BREAKFAST, YOU will head out on your first Santa safari, either a 5km Husky Safari or a 1.5-hour Snowmobile Safari, an adventure surrounded by the unspoiled landscapes of this majestic region. After lunch at the hotel, those with older children can take a stroll on snowshoes (like walking on a pair of tennis racquets!).Those with younger children can join in the snow activities, including tobogganing, kick sledges, stigas and snowball fights! Or you can join one of the optional excursions or keep warm enjoying the indoor crafts activities available. This evening, join us on a walk to the local church where, after a welcome by the local vicar, we will enjoy carol singing. After a relaxing dinner at the hotel, you might want to join one of our optional night-time safaris.

Day Three

AFTER BREAKFAST, A host of snow activities are available, from racing on the stigas, scoring goals at snow hockey, testing your strength at tug-of-war, tobogganing or snowball throwing. Children can try the supervised kid's snowmobile track (see page 48 for further details). Lunch will be provided at your hotel, with hot drinks available outside throughout the day. Make sure you have your special boarding pass ready for the moment you board Santa's own reindeer sleigh and set off in search of Father Christmas. You will travel though the snow-laden trees, with one of the elves to guide you. Could this be where we will find Santa taking a rest in his chosen log cabin or Sámi kota? During a private family meeting with Santa, each child has the chance to talk with Santa and will receive a small gift which will evoke special memories for years to come of the day they met the real Father Christmas. Later, you sit down to a festive dinner, complete with crackers, party poppers and blowers.

Day Four

AFTER BREAKFAST, YOU check out of your room ready for your last Santa safari. A 5km Husky Safari or a 1.5-hour Snowmobile Safari, whichever you did not join previously. Then there's time for a final play in the snow or a last chance to join one of our optional excursions. Lunch will be provided at the hotel before we depart to Enontekio for our flight home.
